North Star Multimedia was originally founded on the mission and vision of focusing at least 75% of our resources towards commercial photography. In the year 2000, professional digital photography was just on the verge of burying film and equally destroying the economic model that went along with that We opted to shift gears and focus more on graphic design with print media and also web design.
The Adobe Saga
Photoshop 4.0 (1997) was the gateway for us to begin understanding “layers” and the original foundation to the Adobe Creative Suite concept. Every 18 months designers were led to believe that to be competitive in the marketplace, you MUST upgrade your current Suite to the CS Nirvana promised next. In hindsight, I can see those were the most profitable years for Adobe despite plenty of freeware being distributed. There are some legitimate alternatives to Adobe on the marketplace but the learning-curve to change the work-flow is just not required at this point.
All you need to know is that were are fully versed in commercial graphic design, desktop publishing (including working with database content), professional WordPress website development and highly effective promotional product marketing campaigns.
